Sandhana:
Gather, Root, & Rejuvenate
Sunday, April 5
12:00-5:00pm Pacific
A Day Retreat for Space Holders, Organizers, Teachers, Counselors, Caregivers
Sandhana means to connect, to join, to bring together.
This is a gathering for the times we live in. When the world feels heavy and frenzied, as spaceholders, many of us may be feeling burned out, alone and overwhelmed. Come and join us for a day retreat at the Venture Retreat Center, a non-profit, community oriented space in the Santa Cruz mountains,an hour from San Francisco. There will be time to move, breathe, to pause, to tell stories, to build community, to imagine. Inspired by the magnificence and resilience of Redwoods and their deeply intertwined roots that foster mutual stability, we remember we are inter connected and find our resilience in community.
Join Anjali and Kavita for a deeply nourishing day to feel into your body surrounded by the majestic redwoods.
We will be in a Serenity Yurt, starting the day with creating a sacred space to ground us in our personal intentions. A rejuvenating yoga practice and meditation igniting our innate heart-fire led by Kavita will get us ready for reflection and contemplation. Sharing from her book, Anjali will facilitate discussion and guided journalling to inspire your liberatory work, creativity and imagination. Lunch will be provided.

Kavita Patel
Kavita Patel is a Yoga Educator, a poet, a dancer and an activist. As an E-RYT 500 hour, she holds multiple certifications in Children and Teens Yoga, Trauma Informed Training and Restorative Yoga. Kavita’s yoga practice began long before her first formal training. Kavita has been practicing Indian folk dance (garba) and writing poetry since she was a teen. For Kavita, movement is a joyful way to translate our divine spark. Asana is the body’s poetry. Poetry transcends individual words, the same way embodied movement transcends our experience of living in the body. Kavita is on the faculty of Prana Yoga in Castro Valley and Mindbody Zone in Fremont. She also founded Being in Schools, an initiative focused on bringing yoga and mindfulness education into public schools. She believes that when yoga is made accessible to all, it becomes a powerful tool for unity, healing, and collective liberation.
