Yoga As Embodied Resistance: Reading Circle
October 24 and 31, November 7 and 11
A four-session series to study and discuss the book in community. Live with Anjali on Zoom.
1-3pm Pacific / 4-6pm Eastern
Together, we will explore Yoga as Embodied Resistance as the book interrogates and dismantles multiple threads of oppression so as to co-create a movement toward individual and collective healing and transformation.
Each session will have lecture, pre-work readings and reflection prompts to facilitate ongoing learning, integration, as well as centering and asana. Recordings available for missed sessions.
The intention of this Reading Circle is to cultivate a community of critical thinkers attuned to the praxis of yoga without essentializing the ancient practice and its contemporary incarnations.

FAQs
Who is this for?
This space is for yoga practitioners, educators, students, cultural workers, and seekers who want to explore yoga as a liberatory practice rooted in anti-oppression and social transformation. You don’t need to be an “expert”—just willing to engage with the material, reflect, and show up in community.
Do I need to read the whole book before the circle starts?
Not at all. You’ll receive suggested reading and reflection prompts ahead of each session. Come as you are, where you are.
Will there be physical practice involved?
Yes—each session includes a centering and gentle asana component to help integrate the material in the body. All bodies, levels, and access needs are welcome.
Where is it happening?
All sessions will be held live on Zoom. A link will be shared with registered participants ahead of time.
What if I can’t attend live?
No worries—recordings of each session will be shared with all participants. You can stay engaged on your own time.
Are scholarships really available? How do I request one?
Yes! We’re committed to access. Email Anjali with a brief note about your interest and need. No long applications or financial documentation required—we trust you.
